POSITION SUMMARY:
The Behavioral Health Registered Nurse holds a shift accountability to provide direct patient care by utilization of the nursing process in accordance with the established policies and procedures of Southwestern Medical Center; maintains clinical competencies through continuing education and delegates
patient care priorities commensurate with the education and experience of available staff.
TASKS:
•Administer medications to include educating patients and families indication use and side effects.
•Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
•Monitor, record and report symptoms and changes in patients' conditions.
•Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
•Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.
•Consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
•Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's condition.
•Monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity.
•Assist with coordinating discharge plan and care
•Directs and supervises LPNs, MHTs, Nurse Tech, Ward Clerks, and assist with completing 90 day and annual performance evaluations.
•Manages budgeted manhours daily
•Manages budgeted supplies
•Maintain the safety of the Milieu.
•Ensure patient safety and staff supervision and intervention.
•Promote customer service (Patients, Families, Visitors, Employees)
Job Requirements
Education, training, experience:
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION :
•Must possess a current Registered Nurse License for the State of Oklahoma
•Current BCLS certification
•CAPE within 30 days
•Valid Drivers License issued by the State of Oklahoma (if applicable)
EDUCATION:
•Graduate from an accredited professional nurse program
